Ho-Ho-Kus was originally known as the borough of Orvil but was officially sanctioned as “Ho-Ho-Kus” in 1908. The town boasts prosperity, diversity, and the fact that no town is spelled exactly like theirs. Ho-Ho-Kus is also home to historical monuments “The Hermitage,” the site of Aaron Burr’s marriage, and the Ho-Ho-Kus inn.

The unofficial slogan of the department is “Proud of our past, dedicated to the future.” The department prides itself on providing sound training and education to each of their firefighters.

Ho-Ho-Kus Chamber of Commerce – The Ho-Ho-Kus Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer organization supported principally by local business men and women. The goal of the organization is to promote economic, civic, commercial, industrial and professional welfare of the borough.

The Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department – The Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department is dedicated to protecting the life and property of everyone in the Ho-Ho-Kus community while providing the most ethical standards of service.
