Paramus is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey. The borough was established in 1922. Paramus is located a few miles outside of New York City and is known as a shopping destination as it is home to a great number of malls and outlet stores. The name Paramus is debated over in terms of meaning. In Native American tongue the name means “Land of the Turkey” or “Pleasant stream.”
